Morgan's Preschool Graduation

Morgan graduated from preschool yesterday. I'm not sure who started all these graduations, but personally I think it's a little much. Anyways, Morgan was super excited, UNTIL she had to stand in front of everyone. Anyways, after a little bribery from me (doughnuts) she couldn't stop smiling. I'm glad school is over!

Weekend Off in Boise

This past weekend the kids and I went to Boise to visit Aaron. Aaron had been there since Wednesday on a business trip and would be there for 1 week, so we thought it would be fun to get out of Rexburg for a few days and spend some time with Aaron. It was so nice to finally escape Rexburg! It was nice and hot (90ยบ+) and we decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather by going to the zoo and Discovery (Science) Center.

I've decided that I do really well on vacation. I can relax and enjoy my family instead of worrying about cleaning my house, making meals, getting kids off to school, etc. I am a much nicer mom. It was so nice to eat out every meal. All I had to do was decide where and what to eat....I didn't have to make it or clean it up. While we were out of the hotel, someone would come clean our room and make our beds. You just can't beat that!

So, here's the conclusion that I've come to: We either need to be on a permanent vacation, OR I need a personal chef and maid!

P.S. Thanks Deb for letting us come visit. It was so much fun seeing you and letting the kids play. They kept asking me when they could go back to play with "their friends".

Big Weekend!

This last weekend we blessed Peyton in church. Aaron's parents and sister (and kids) came, along with my parents all from Washington. It was so nice to have family in town. They kept us busy from Thursday until Monday. The highlights were going to the zoo with my parents, going to Leo's Place with Aaron's family, swimming, swimming, swimming, celebrating Ashlyn's birthday....and best of all...just visiting and hanging out. The kids got to play with their cousins from "Walla Walla, Washington" (they love to say that) and were very sad to see them leave. They are already counting down the days until we get to go visit (32 days!).

THANKS to our family who traveled such a long way for this special occasion. We love you!

Random Thoughts

Well....just some random things....the first picture is after church on Sunday. We were waiting for dinner to be ready, and all we really wanted to do was take a nap...so we did. We have church at 8:30am, so we have to wake up at about 6am to get there on time. That's just too early for me! After being up with Peyton all night, I am like a zombie at church.

Next picture is my little indoor nursery. We planted these plants on April 1st. We planted some Lupine, Sweet Pea, Poppies, and Lavender. The kids have really enjoyed watching the plants grow....and I can't wait to get them off my kitchen table and outside where they belong. Too bad it will be another month or more before it stops freezing at night.

Painting is Never-Ending!

Well, we finally got permission to paint our house! Our landlord said that we could purchase all the supplies and take it off our rent...so I jumped at the chance! I don't know what I got myself into! What a lot of work! Our walls are so nasty! The baseboard heaters put off this black soot that looks like we smoke (ring around the tops of the walls and ceiling), and we have a mold problem. So, we had to scrub, then prime, then paint. Also, the trim was either scuffed or banged up, so we have been painting that too. We started in 1 end of our house and have now made it to our living room and kitchen. We are about 1/2 done with the whole house, but I'm pooped! I don't know if I can do anymore! It looks so nice, but we've got stuff EVERYWHERE, you can barely walk into my house! I can't believe we took on this project right before all our family comes this weekend. I was obviously a little too ambitious!Oh, by the way, these are the "before" and "during" pics...nothing is quite finished yet, so when it is, I'll put up the "after" photos. Also, you may notice that the girls' hair looks a little different...that's because they got their hair permed! I like it, but Aaron hates it. But I'm pretty sure I'm the one that gets to decide since I'm the one that fixes their hair!

8 Weeks Old

Peyton is 8 weeks old today! I can't believe it! This Sunday we are blessing her here in Rexburg, and this will be the first time most of our family will have seen her. It's sad that she's not my little tiny baby anymore, although she is still pretty small. I'm not sure exactly how small, but my quess is probably between 8 and 9 pounds. She is such a good baby. I couldn't say that for most of my children. Anyways, she is doing well...and more pictures to come of her in a week!
