Vegas, Easter and More

Well, this post is mainly going to be photos from our trip to Vegas and a few others of what we've been doing lately.

Aaron and I and Skyler and Aubrey went to Las Vegas a couple weeks ago and had so much fun! My mother-in-law came down and watched the kids for us (THANKS SO MUCH!) and we were gone for 5 days. Unfortunately for us, the weather was bad so we came back pastier than we left, but it was still nice to have a short vacation.We did so many fun things...went shopping at the outlets, walked around the strip, pulled a few slot machines (just to say we did), ate out at my FAVORITE restaurants, visited our friends (Camille & Jarom and their adorable little boys!), my grandpa and my cousin.There is always never enough time to do all the things that you want to...but we will have to save that for our next visit (hopefully soon)! Thanks Sky & Aubs for a great time!
Easter was also a fun time at our house. My mother-in-law was here so that made it extra special for us. We had an egg hunt with my brothers, Aubrey and Cale and then Cale's roommates joined us for Easter dinner. FUNNY!

Ok, so I've been meaning to put these "funnies" on here for a while, and I keep forgetting. Here they are:

One night at about 11 PM, Aaron and I were just falling asleep and we heard a big crash in the kitchen. We both jumped out of bed and came running into the kitchen to find Ashlyn with her pants pulled down around her ankles and her trying to sit on top of our large trash can. She kept trying to sit on it, but it kept falling over. I quickly ran over to her and tried to wake her up, but gave up and quickly ran her to the toilet. Even after 5 minutes she was out of it. She climbed back up the latter to her bunk bed. The next morning I asked her about it and she didn't remember anything about it. Aaron and I still tease her about it.

Morgan is our little airhead, spunky, spit-fire, drama-queen. If I could, I'd have a tape recorder always recording what she says. On night while I was tucking her into bed she said this:

Morgan: "Mom, I'm weird."
Me: "Morgan, you're not weird."
Morgan: "No, I'm lame."
Me: "What does lame mean?"
Morgan: "That you're not cool."
Me: "Ok."
Morgan: "I'm lame, but that's ok because I'm pretty!"

I was getting some of Ashlyn's old clothes out of some boxes to see if they'd fit Morgan. I was holding them up to her and asking her if she liked them. She liked them all, until we got to the last few shirts in the box:

Me: "Do you like this shirt?"
Morgan: "NO! That is SO last year!"

When she had her book parade in her class, all the kids were supposed to dance. Well, Morgan decided that it wasn't very cool to dance so she went and sat on the side. Pretty soon she had convinced 8 other girls that they were too cool to dance. Then after a few minutes she decided that she had a large enough following that she wanted to dance again.

Morgan is always in control and the boss. If it's not HER idea, it's not a good one! Never a dull moment!

What have we been doing?

Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while. It seems like we've either been really busy or there has been nothing new to post about.

*Morgan, Skyler, Austin and dad all came down with the flu Monday nightThat pretty much sums it up. Skyler, Aubrey, Aaron and I are leaving for Vegas on Monday night. I can't wait! We'll be there for 4 nights. Aaron's mom is coming to watch the kids (thank you so much!). I guess I will have more to post about when we get back!

Favorite "Romantic" Vacation

Ok, just putting romantic in the title makes me laugh...basically it was just a vacation without the kids...but romantic??? I wouldn't go that far! We went on a 9 day trip with my family to Hawaii...we probably fought more than we had "romantic" time together.

Anyways, here's the scoop...we went to Hawaii in June of 2004. We left Ashlyn and Morgan at Aaron's parent's house. We first spent a few days on Oahu hanging out on Honolulu beach and then to Laie to visit my cousin (and family). We picked up my sister who was (at the time) attending school there at BYU-Hawaii. We went to PCC and to the luau.

Then it was off to Molokai to visit some friends from my dad's mission. This is my family's favorite island! The people there are so friendly! Everyone is very laid back and easy-going. We spent a few days visiting people, hiking to Halawa Falls, and horseback riding on the beach.

Our last stop was on the Big Island (Hawaii). This was the first time any of us had been to this island, so it was a lot of fun exploring. We spent 2 days scubadiving, LOTS of time snorkeling and sunbathing, and we even went to see the active volcano (but didn't have enough time to hike out to see it).

It was a great trip, even if we weren't alone. The sights (banyan trees, bouganvilla, palm trees, gorgeous blue ocean), sounds (ocean waves, palm trees in the breeze) and smells (sweet plumeria flowers, kalua pig) of Hawaii and something you will never forget. And going to Hawaii with my dad is always exciting. He changes into a young 19 year old boy all over again! Thanks again dad! Memories I'll never forget!

Birthdays and Trips

These past couple weeks have been pretty busy. I celebrated my 27th birthday on Feb 23 (thank you everyone for your sweet birthday wishes!) and Peyton had her 1st birthday on March 3. I can't believe my baby is already 1! I still can't decide if I'm happy or sad about that. Also, the kids, Austin and I spent this last weekend in Boise with my parents. Besides the weather being a little too cold (it snowed on us), we had a great time! The kids LOVED swimming the most and a close second would be dinner at IHOP (breakfast for dinner). We also went to the Boise Zoo and went bowling. All Friday was spent driving around looking at houses and trying to figure out what part of the Boise AREA we like best. We are THINKING about relocating to the Boise area in June (don't worry Mer...we aren't any closer to making a decision...you'd be the first to know). If you know anything about Boise, please share. We could use all the help we can get!
